In February 1941, Mr. Esmeragdo Masias Vidal founded a company called “Talleres Masias”, starting its activity with the production of card ranges, highly benefited from the fact that the company was in a region with a major influence of the textile sector.

The company became a public limited company in 1968 with Mr. Jordi Masias as the Managing Director, experiencing an important growth; the scope of supply continued to grow and the company started to implant marketing campaigns and export goods. The latter was focused on the Western European and North African countries during the first phase and Latin America during subsequent phases. During this term the company increased its presence on Internationals Fairs and started Marketing activities.

During the dacade of the seventies, the company started to manufacture a new line of fibre preparation machinery into carding machinery construction sector. The said line included installations used to open, mix and clean fibres.

In the early 80’s, Masias Maquinaria was established with the aim focused on export activities. During this decade the activities of research and development were systematized and in a short range of time it had as a result the integration of new technologies in the machinery catalogue.

The manufacturing lines expanded to the carding of synthetic fibres, wool, non-fabric and regenerated fibre, including fibre preparation lines. Consolidated the first foreign markets, mainly Latin American and Africans, exports were channelled to the Eastern European Countries. During this decade, the 80s, the company broke up the commercial division from manufacturing business and created Masias Maquinaria S.A., a company solely dedicated to the world service.

Since the 90’s, Masias intensified R&D and the constant search for new applications in the treatment of materials. Masias Maquinaria developed during the first years of this decade a range of innovating machines for fiber filling along with other automatic machines for the bedding industry. The main applications include pillows, decorative pillows, sofas, Nordic duvets and matters covers.

In addition, in the 90’s decade Masias Maquinaria improved the machinery engineering, providing added value services in the design of the facilities for its customers. It also specialized in providing complete systems integrating supply equipments from other manufacturers to provide its customers facilities “Turkey”.

In the recent years, Masias is betting on the research for new solutions and applications and the continuing evolution of the machines that make up the portfolio.

Masias Maquinaria change into a limited company in 2009, making an important investment this yeas to provide the most complete and modern laboratory tests, wich integrates the main machines of  the catalogue, allowing, besides to test new materials, small-scale reproduction of most productions processes that made our clients.

At present Masias Maquinaria is the company with the most extensive range of machinery for de filling of household items, non-woven and recycling with more than 400 clients in 60 countries.

The current lines of R+D+I are moving towards the creation of synergies between the company  capacities to the recycling companies in the group.
