The Secretary of State for Portugal’s Environment, Mr. Humberto Delgado Ubach Chaves Rosa, chaired the opening of the Organic Appreciation Centre in Valnor on November 21st, 2008. The plant has the most modern technology for treating municipal solid waste and composting
tunnels, with a treatment capacity of 20 t / h of FORM (Organic Fraction from municipal waste) and 20 t / h of SWM (Urban Solid Waste) and an estimated production of compost from more than 5 t / h for material from FORM and close to 2 t / h for the coming of MSW.
That facility has been executed in Consortium (UTE) between Masias Recycling and Somague Engenharia (a subsidiary of Sacyr Vallermoso). Masias Recycling has been the technology company for this plant and has been responsible for the supply of electromechanical equipment for pretreatment of MSW, composting tunnels, refining systems, bagging and Palletizing of compost, as well as to provide technological guarantees.
